For most aspiring Smash players, getting a single win at your first tournament would be considered a huge accomplishment. However, Colorondo8 is not like most aspiring Smash players. In fact, the prodigal Inkling main went an astounding 4-2 at his first offline event in his native Missouri in late 2019. This spectacular debut ended up marking the start of a meteoric rise for Colorondo8, who, after only three months of competing, swiftly made it onto his state’s Ultimate power rankings at number four. Before he could rise any further, though, the Covid-19 pandemic brought Colorondo8’s ascension to a screeching halt, forcing him to compete entirely online for more than a year.
The greatest global pandemic of the 21st century did little to deter his in-person success, however, as Colorondo8 quickly reestablished himself on the local level in late 2021 by placing within the top four at 13 of his next 14 tournaments. He also began to test himself on the international scene by entering his first ever offline major tournament, Riptide 2021, where he placed 65th out of more than a thousand entrants. Colorondo8’s Ultimate career would only blossom from here, as he not only became the second best player in Missouri just last year, but also the 102-ranked player in the USA.
When asked about what he wants to accomplish during his time with Mazer, Colorondo8 had this to say, “Really want to get my YouTube/Twitch content back on track and reach bigger heights in competition!”
